Cherise, a good starting point is the Metropolitan Council on Housing. They manage a hotline where you can be screened for potential eviction prevention funds. If a match is found, they can help you apply for the grant and provide ongoing support until your housing situation is stabilized. Call 212-979-0611. Metropolitan Council on Housing is one of several community partners that join forces to fight homelessness in Brooklyn.
We referred another client to this agency as well.
