Northwest Oregon Regional Housing Center provides rental assistance in Clatsop, Columbia and Tillamook Counties

Tenants at risk of eviction or homelessness have access to rental assistance programs that can ease a difficult situation. Assistance in the form of counseling or cash are available to those who qualify.

The Northwest Oregon Regional Housing Center is a community action agency with multiple offices that serve a three county footprint. It provides a number of programs designed to assist financially distressed tenants in their time of need while ultimately preparing them for self-sufficient living and possibly homeownership.

  • Clatsop Community Action provides a number of rental assistance programs to residents of Clatsop County, including transient workers who may just be passing through. The agency provides a number of emergency shelter opportunities as well as substantial counseling and financial supports to lower income families who need cash to pay back rent or provide a month’s rent or security deposit on a new rental unit.
  • Community Action Team serves Clatsop, Columbia and Tillamook Counties. There are two main specialties of the organization. First, help with a security deposit is provided if it will allow you to move into a permanently affordable rental unit. Second, cash could be granted to help you avoid becoming evicted.   • Community Action Resource Enterprises (CARE) is a major provider of rental assistance and other cash grant programs to families that have suffered recent financial hardships. For example, several sources of funding area available to those who have faced disconnection of their utilities due to severe delinquency on their bills. While there are many different ways the organization can assist, the rental assistance will likely provide the greatest amount of cash to help your stretched budget.
