WWCM provides help with rent in Apex and Holly Springs

Western Wake Crisis Ministry (WWCM) has become widely recognized for its help with rent in Apex and the Holly Springs community. Families who find themselves in crisis have been able to turn to WWCM for much needed help with immediate living costs while they scramble to get their lives back in order.

Who is Western Wake Crisis Ministry?

This nonprofit organization was first organized in 1983 as a collaboration between community leaders and area churches. The organization grew into a role for providing assistance to local families extending to a service area as far as Fuquay-Varina, although Fuquay residents are now covered by Southern Wake Faith Community in Action.

This charity provides a safety net to this corner of Wake County, preventing a catastrophic sequence of events that often begins as a job loss or injury and can quickly escalate to eviction and homelessness. Its programs are designed to step in so that a family in crisis has the opportunity to remain in their current home while dealing with a temporary crisis.

Help with Rent in Apex and Holly Springs

One major area of support is the assistance with rent payments to residents of Apex, Holly Springs and some surrounding areas. While federal aid programs tend to focus on permanent rent subsidies, WWCM covers a different need.

Working families that experience a temporary financial hardship may be at risk of losing their economic stability. Once lost, it can cause irreparable harm to a credit rating and even the well-being of the family. WWCM can step in to provided help with a rent payment when necessary to halt an eviction. When your landlord is threatening to evict you, you may be able to receive a grant towards the back rents owed, thereby allowing you more time to recover from a financial emergency.

Help with Utility Bills

Late utility payments can result in disconnection of service, which in turn can require reconnection fees and deposits to be paid. By assisting with utility bill arrears, WWCM can help you avoid the consequences of a disconnection of service.

The organization can arrange to have a payment made on your behalf to your utility provider. This could be directly made to Duke Energy or for your water payment with the Town of Apex or Town of Holly Springs.

Medical Help

WWCM can assist with costs involved with getting you your necessary prescription medications. The organization recognizes that many families skip medications when they cannot afford to pay for more urgent needs such as rent and utilities.

Assistance is provided in the form of payment for your prescription cost. It does not cover medical bills.
