The Talladega – St. Clair Chapter helps individuals and families who are the sufferers of several natural or men made disasters by providing shelters, foods, bloods and blood products.

Services

Disaster Services: Their efficient volunteers and forces respond to any disaster in a moment notice and whether there is a fire, tornado or flood they immediately reach the spot with relief for the affected individuals. This program is mainly involved in assisting the sufferers by providing shelters, foods, health and mental health services, blood and blood products, financial assistances in some cases, other available resources.

International Services: For more than about 100 years they have been providing global assistance to fulfill the needs of the world’s most poor communities through disaster response and many cost effective community based programs covering around 70 counties around the world. They also provide required assistance for the children across the globe by helping them vaccinate against measles and rubella. Their services include responding to disasters overseas, reconnecting families, Haiti Assistance Program, disaster preparedness and Measles & Rubella Initiative.

Service to the Armed Forces: With the assistance of volunteers and financial donation of American people they have been providing verity of facilities for the military individuals and their families. They use many advanced technologies to link service members with their families during an emergency. They also have an Emergency Communications center which is capable of obtaining required information very faster and efficiently which is then sent to service members and they reach anywhere in the world with the essential services.  Included other services they provide are connecting military individuals and their families with local community resources and support assistance, providing required training which promotes resiliency and preparedness to assist them coping with the challenges of military life, supporting wounded or sick military forces through proper treatment and medications etc.

Blood Services: With the support of blood donors and a huge amount of volunteers they have been collecting and distributing blood and blood products to the needy patients at many local hospitals and transfusion centers. People from every sector including students, factory workers, businessman, parents and grandparents, and teaching professionals donate bloods and blood related products to Blood Service center which are later distributed among the needy individuals. Blood service center also has a program that is involved in testing and checking the donated blood and blood products for any suspicious bacteria and viruses including HIV, hepatitis B and C viruses etc before supplying.
