PACS extends rental assistance in Hopkins County Assistance Center

Pennyrile Allied Community Services (PACS) is one of the primary providers of emergency rental assistance in Hopkins County, Kentucky.

Located on Branch Street in Madisonville, PACS is able to provide emergency rental assistance to lower-income families who would otherwise face eviction from the rental property. Emergency rent payments cover back rent owed to your landlord.

There are limits to the amount of emergency rent that you may be able to receive due to funding constraints. First of all, you must meet eligibility requirements before you will qualify for rental assistance. Secondly, PACS will need to see evidence that your crisis is temporary in nature and that you will be able to resume your normal rent payments if you receive assistance to bring your rent current again.

There are caps on rental assistance that can be paid. If you are already paying a high rental rate and are more than two months delinquent on your payments, then it is unlikely that the agency will be able to provide funding towards your existing rental situation. In this type of situation you should expect to receive assistance towards transitioning into a more affordable rental property. The organization can help you with this transition through emergency lodging and other support. Keep in mind that if you do qualify for emergency rent payments, you may also receive other help in the form of clothing, furniture, household goods and help with your utilities.
