OB3C provides emergency rent payments and shelter to families

The Olive Branch Christian Community Coalition, or OB3C, consists of several churches and mercy organizations in the Mid-South area, including parts of Tennessee and Mississippi. Organizations with OB3C offer aid in the form of assistance programs, counseling, and family issues.

Organizations in the OB3C network offer a variety of shelters for men, women, children, and intact families. Memphis Union Mission, located at 383 Poplar Avenue in Memphis, TN, offers a homeless shelter for men. The shelter takes in transient, mentally ill, or homeless men, and offers meals, shelter, and an awareness program for substance abuse. The Mission can be contacted at 901-526-8434.

The Memphis Union Mission also offers an intact family shelter, where families may reside in a three bedroom home for up to 90 days. The Mission may be contacted at 901-526-8434. The Salvation Army Shelter and the Memphis Family Shelters are available for women and children only.

OB3C also can provide aid in the form of financial assistance for bills. Catholic Social Services of Hernando, located on 499 E. Commerce Street in Hernando, MS, provides assistance for bills. Hours of operation for the Hernando branch are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 am to 2 pm, and can be reached at 662-429-4461. Catholic Social Services of Olive Branch, located at 9607 Hwy 178 in Olive Branch, MS, provides emergency assistance for utilities and rent, along with food, clothing, and medicine. Citizens seeking aid through this OB3C organization should bring proof of residency, Social Security cards, birth date, and proof of household income. Hours of operation for this Catholic Social Services are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 am to 2 pm. The Olive Branch may be reached at 662-893-0255. Mid-state Opportunity, located on 9607 Hwy 178 in Olive Branch, MS, also provides utility assistance, and can be reached at 662-895-4153. Samaritans, located at 2600 Goodman Road in Horn Lake, MS, provides aid in Southaven and Horn Lake for utilities, rent, food, clothing and prescriptions. Hours of operations for Samaritans are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 am to 2 pm. Samaritans can be reached at 662-393-6439.

OB3C also offers food assistance through a variety of local food banks. Part of the OB3C, Olive Branch Emergency Food Ministry, located at 9797 Hwy 178 in Olive Branch, MS, provides residents in need food for seven days.
