EICAP provides affordable housing to eastern Idaho tenants

Eastern Idaho is served by an organization committed to providing safe and affordable housing to lower income families. Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership (EICAP) has a number of rental assistance programs that serve a large number of individuals and families who cannot afford to pay market rent.

Instead of going into debt to meet your landlord’s move in requirements, consider whether your household might qualify for assistance through EICAP. As of 2013, EICAP manages 347 housing units which are reserved for low income families and special populations.

There are certain qualifications that you must meet in order to be approved as a resident in one of these 9 communities. A case manager can review your situation and find an appropriate opening if you qualify.

The following communities host reduced rent apartments:

  • Aspen Park Apartments. A total of 72 3-bedroom apartments are located in Idaho Falls. Rent is as low as $520 a month ($300 security deposit) for a family.
  • Camas Street Apartments. 68 2-bedroom units are located in Blackfoot. Families are welcome.
  • Lakeview Family Apartments. 23 units are available in a mix of 2 or 3 bedroom apartments. Families are welcome, and rent may be adjusted to compensate for lower income. Migrant workers or those who work in agriculture are preferred. This community is in Roberts.
  • Lost River Senior Housing. 28 apartments are available in a mix of 1 or 2 bedroom setups in Arco. Seniors and disabled adults are welcome to apply.
  • Market Lake Townhouses. 8 apartments are located in Roberts for use by families. 4 are 2-bedroom and the other 4 are 3-bedroom units.
  • Riverside Senior Housing. Seniors and disabled adults may qualify for one of the 42 1-bedroom apartments located in Idaho Falls.
  • South Fremont Senior Housing. In St Anthony there are 14 apartments reserved for Seniors or those living with disability in a mix of 1 and 2-bedroom layouts.
  • Teton View Senior Housing. 36 1-bedroom apartments are available to Seniors and those with disability in Idaho Falls.
  • Twin Pines Manor. Families may qualify for one of 56 apartments located in Rexburg. Rents start at $356 a month for 1-bedroom, $379 a month for 2-bedroom or $399 a month for a 3-bedroom unit. Approximately 11 units may be eligible for subsidized rent in situations where a family needs a lower rate.
